What is an ÖÖD mirror house?
An ÖÖD house is a compact, design-led cabin wrapped in mirrored glass. From outside, it reflects the trees and sky around it. From inside, you look out through floor-to-ceiling glass while staying in a private, climate-controlled room with a real bed and bathroom. Every one of our mirror houses has full curtains, since visibility from outside increases at night when your lights are on.
ÖÖD Texas Mirror House: Coldspring, near Houston
Our original ÖÖD Texas Mirror House sits on Cameron Ranch’s 11 private acres in the East Texas pines, about an hour north of Houston and roughly 10 minutes from Lake Livingston and Sam Houston National Forest. It sleeps 2 and has a wood-fired hot tub, an outdoor soaking tub and a mirrored dry sauna. Dogs are welcome (up to 2, $49 per pet). Rates start around $299+ per night.
Nearby on the same property you’ll find the Zen Den A-frame and the Wonderland Geo Dome, if you’re planning a trip with friends.
The Bloom and The Hideaway: Lake Bastrop, near Austin

The Bloom is a 221 sq ft ÖÖD mirror house with a soft, flower-inspired interior, set in Lake Bastrop’s South Shore Park about a 3-minute walk from the water. It sleeps 2, has a private wood-fired hot tub and allows dogs. Its mirrors are UV-protected to help keep birds from flying into the glass.

The Hideaway is our second Lake Bastrop mirror house: floor-to-ceiling mirrored glass, woods views and a private hot tub, for 2 guests. Dogs allowed.
Both are inside public LCRA park land, so you may see other park guests, but each mirror house has its own private space. Traveling with more people? The Magnolia and Armadillo lakefront cabins nearby have cowboy pools.
New: the Möön House (opens October 19, 2026)

The Möön House is our newest ÖÖD design, which we believe is the first Möön House open to the public. It’s built for two: glass walls, a private sauna, a wood-fired hot tub and a fenced site. Dogs are welcome: up to 2, at $49 each per stay. Booking details and rates will be on the listing page when it opens on October 19.
Dog-first mirror houses at PawHaus (opens January 1, 2027)
If you never travel without your dog, our sister resort PawHaus Resort in Goodrich, Texas, was built around them: ÖÖD mirror houses among the pines, each with a small private yard, a dog rinse station, dog beds and bowls, no dog fees and no size limits. All breeds are welcome except wolfdogs and wolf hybrids. PawHaus opens January 1, 2027.
Tips for booking a mirror house
- Book weekends early: each mirror house sleeps 2, and there’s a 2-night weekend minimum.
- Pick your scene: East Texas pines and saunas in Coldspring, or a lakeside park setting at Lake Bastrop.
- Check burn bans before planning a fire, and bring layers for evenings in the hot tub.
